Rove's potential indictment good news for 2006 for a few reasons

First, when it becomes clear the President's right hand man compromised national security for political payback in outing a spy, voters will tend not to trust that party. Second, it is difficult for Karl Rove to plot and plan against the Democratic Party when he is worried about criminal charges. Rove is, by all accounts, a very sharp strategist and I'd rather he be distracted.

Don't misunderestimate the stupidity of the american public. I was sure that they'd wise up after the first term. But all Rove needs to do is scare the public and they'll vote for the most belligerent candidates out there.

I would never try and predict Fitz. I wouldn't be cock sure this is going to hit Rove. It might turn out to be quite a surprize.

"The special counsel has not advised Mr. Rove that he is a target of the investigation and affirmed that he has made no decision concerning charges," Rove's attorney Robert Luskin said in a statement.

"The special counsel has indicated that he does not anticipate the need for Mr. Rove's further cooperation," the statement said.

from the NYT,
"On one page of my interview notes, for example, I wrote the name "Valerie Flame." Yet, as I told Mr. Fitzgerald, I simply could not recall where that came from, when I wrote it or why the name was misspelled."

I testified that I did not believe the name came from Mr. Libby, in part because the notation does not appear in the same part of my notebook as the interview notes from him.

Now who's the source Miller went to Jail to protect? I think its someone right inside the CIA, maybe Plame herself or Wilson?

One thing for certain this will be a really weird story when told.

As I told the grand jury, I recalled Mr. Libby's frustration and anger about what he called "selective leaking" by the C.I.A. and other agencies to distance themselves from what he recalled as their unequivocal prewar intelligence assessments. The selective leaks trying to shift blame to the White House, he told me, were part of a "perverted war" over the war in Iraq. I testified about these conversations after spending 85 days in jail for refusing to cooperate with the grand jury inquiry. Having been summoned to testify before the grand jury, I went to jail instead, to protect my source - Mr. Libby - because he had not communicated to me his personal and voluntary permission to speak. So Miller get's permission from Libby to speak to tell us she can't remember who gave her Plame's name?
