Beyond the Beltway this Sunday to mix it up

I'll be on Bruce DuMont's show Beyond the Beltway this Sunday as the liberal guest.

You can tune in on WLS radio from 6-8 pm or catch it on television later that night.

My guess is we'll talk about the transportation bill signed in Illinois, but move into other federal topics.

What do you think the big national political story of the week has been?

I have not read the specifics of the bill. Nevertheless, I tend to think it comes at a good time and is good for liberals and conservatives (it is a lot better than the bankruptcy legislation passed by the U.S. Congress earlier this year?). The population is growing. Traveling per capita may be growing. We need more resources for transportation. We may need federal coordination. It helps with interstate trade. It helps keep the country connected. Transportation is key to democracy.

IL is a cross roads for the country. O'Hare could use some work, and the entire U.S. would benefit from this. Some of United Airline's problems may be due to O'Hare (O'Hare became a bottleneck and became victim of its own success) (as a back-up for O'Hare, we need to beef up another airport in IL - either Midway or something downstate). Transportation could be a growth engine for the IL and U.S. economy.

The "Able Danger" information that someone in the Clinton Administration did not want the FBI to have seems to have potential to develop into a pretty big story.

The price of a barrel of oil reached an all-time high in nominal terms (nominal meaning the price is not at an all-time high when adjusted for inflation).

the savings rate in the U.S. is really low. it has been trending down for a long period of time.

(this was not an issue in the news yet worth a mention for forward-looking commentary)

to the extent IL people are encouraged to save more, it might be good. it helps if increased savings do not come at the expense of IL consumption and investment.

interest rates have creeped back up the last year or so. it may pay to save.

Walken 2008 - it's not hit mainstream media, but the blogosphere has really latched on to this story.

Anonymous 5:22 nailed it -- Bruce talked about Cindy Sheehan and the limits of 'responsible' protest. I thought there are no limits. She's a citizen. She can say and associate with anyone she wants.

Bolton and other nominations circumventing traditional Senate procedures may be just as important yet more arcane, boring and less emotional.

I wonder if Dan has read Cindy's ramblings about the conspiracy involving Israel to get US into war against Saddam.

Let's call it like it is. Dan hates Israel.

From one of the internet’s darkest holes: neo-Nazis are coming to Crawford, Texas, to show their appreciation and support for Cindy Sheehan: Stormfronters Rally In Crawford, TX On Sat. & Sun. Aug. 27-28. (Hat tip: Morgan.)

I’m driving out to Crawford, Texas tomorrow, Friday August 26th to help put up a White Nationalist voice in the protest against Bush’s War for Israel that was started by Cindy Sheehan.

We’ll be uploading digital photos, and maybe video, from Crawford so that Stormfront’s 58,000 Members (achieved today) and hundreds of thousands of Guests can follow the events in Crawford from a White patriot perspective.

If you live anywhere within a driving distance that won’t put you out too much, would you please join us on Saturday and Sunday? That’s August 27th and 28th.

The facilities at the Crawford Ranch Camp Casey are excellent: good food, shade, tents, water, toilets, parking, and all basic necessities are there in ample supply. Most supplies are free. All you need to bring is yourself, a good shade hat, and a long-sleeved shirt.

I’ll put up maps to Crawford and sign-making ideas in this thread. Please add your ideas.

Our purpose in journeying to the Crawford protest against Bush’s Neocon War for Israel is to:

Let The World Know That White Patriots
Were First & Loudest To Protest This War For Israel

We don’t want leftist Johnny-come-latelys who are misleadingly protesting this war as if the war is about oil (not true), or as if it’s right-wing patriots who launched this war (not true) to hijack the issue from us.

We want to challenge these leftists with the fact that their leftist leaders, like Hillary Clinton, are on the same War for Israel team as the cowardly Republicans who have been bought and paid for in the Senate, House, White House, and Media by the Jewish Neocon political machine.

Please PM me if you can come on Saturday or Sunday. Please phone me too: Jamie Kelso at 985 809-0424. I’ll be answering the phone around the clock, so call at any hour.
